Car versus pedestrian accidents can be very serious matters

When you are struck by a vehicle, you might know that you need help right away. Getting medical care is a top priority in these cases. Calling 911 is one of the first things that you should do if you are struck by a car and are able to make the call. If you can’t make the call, try to get someone else to call for you.

If you can, get the information of the person who struck you. If you can’t get this information, don’t worry too much as the responding police officers will likely get that information as long as the driver remains on the scene. You should also try to get the contact information for all witnesses of the incident.

Most people have a cellphone on them as they walk around town. If you can, take pictures of the scene so that you can use those if you need when you decide to seek compensation for the accident. You may want to take pictures of the injuries you suffered so you can use those in your case.

Each pedestrian accident case has unique elements that have to be considered. If you are trying to decide if you are going to file a claim or not, you should consider how the circumstances of your case might impact your claim.

You might choose to seek compensation for the medical expenses you incurred because of the accident. Your claim might also include damages for missed wages and other financial damages you suffered because of the injuries related to the accident.
